I bought the Wine colored Elle boot in tall on here, and the Charcoal colored Elle boot in tall from a retail store. They are identical in every way. I do almost all of my shopping online, but these were the 1st name brand Bearpaw boots that I've purchased from Amazon, so I wanted to be sure they were authentic. I just so happened to order these within the same week, and thus can easily compare the 2. I have pictures of each identifying mark for those who may have the same questions as me.AS FOR THE FIT: These fit as expected. I have a pretty wide calf, and was worried I wouldn't be able to find regular sized tall boots that fit. They are very snug on my calf, but as you can see, they do fit. Mine are a size 10, which probably gives a little more circumference in the calf. I know they don't show any additional circumstances as you go up in size, but I've found that they do go up to a big enough extent that the size 10's fit my calf. I am a bigger build, so if you're worried about these fitting your calf, I'm sure they're going to fit just fine. They will stretch a bit over time, as well. I originally bought a size 9, and my toes were squished to the tip. The 10 fits in the toe, but they are a bit narrow. I am usually a 10 in everything, but my daughter's size 9's in the Bearpaw "Emma" tall boots fit me good. Of course, she's been wearing them around for 2 years, so that may play a part. I don't know if the sizing has changed, or if it really just depends on the style, or if it's a hit or miss. To be honest, I never should have ordered a size 9. I know that much. Her boots fitting me was probably an anomaly. So, I'd say these are true to size, but do not size down. I do wish they were a bit wider in the foot and calf, but this is my experience with all boots of this style. You can roll the shaft down on these boot, as you can see. You do need to roll them down before putting them on, tho. There's not enough room in the shaft to roll them down after they're on you leg.Quality: These are made very well. Real leather, and real wool is used. You can always tell the difference in real wool vs. synthetic. I tried on a pair of Koolaburra Uggs from Kohl's, which is the lower end line for Uggs that they make special for certain retailers, and they are priced in line with Bearpaws. And...OMG, my whole black sock, and pant leg was covered in fuzz! I am not exaggerating. It was a massive amount. I couldn't believe how bad it was, because those boots were regular over a $100, too. I wear black pants almost always, so this was a big frustration, and thus, I did not buy any Koolaburra boots. There was not a speck of wool left anywhere after trying on these Bearpaw boots, because they have real wool. It feels much silkier, and plush to the touch. The Koolaburra Uggs were still thick, and still soft, but there was a difference in the texture. The Bearpaw brand is really stepping their game up, and are competing with the top of the line, real wooled Uggs, and for a much better price point. My daughter's Bearpaw's from last year look much better than her top of the line Uggs from last year. Now, will the Uggs actually stay intact longer? Probably. But, for the purposes of a couple of year's worth of use, these Bearpaw's are one of the best boots you can buy, and I am happy I've finally bought myself some, and not just some for my daughter. My wallet is happier, and I'm able to splurge on different colors like these wine boots, that I probably wouldn't have paid the price for in the other brand, due to them not matching as many of my outfits.Honestly, I'm a bit surprised with my findings, but, pleasantly surprised. If you're on the fence with quality doubts, or whether they'll fit your calf, I'd trust the quality, and the calf fit if you wear a size 9 or bigger, (from my personal experience at least), and Size up when in doubt. Because of how well these boots are made, I'd say this is one purchase worth at least trying. The rewards are high if they fit, and if you're not happy, you can always exchange them, or return them. I hope my pictures and experience help give you an idea of what to expect in person. Please click help it you find this helpful. It encourages me to continue to take the time to share my experiences.❤
